Purpose and Need
Splines add a professional touch to miter joints, no matter the project. The miter joint I built with these plans has served me well on countless projects from drawers and cutting boards to dog bed frames. Most importantly, beyond their aesthetic value, splines provide a drastically increased area of gluing between two parts, strengthening joints and introducing real, structural integrity for a project that will last a lifetime.
